Anu Gandhi is the National Director of Marketing for Consumer Markets at the American Heart Association (AHA), responsible for execution and integration of various marketing initiatives, including the organizationís premier cause for women - Go Red For Women.
Gandhiís efforts have positioned the AHA as a leader in cause marketing and branding. She and the cause team have won an array of awards for the Association, including the 2005 PR Week Nonprofit Campaign of the Year and the Cause Marketing Forumís 2005 Golden Halo Award, both for work on Go Red. Start!, the organizationís most recently launched campaign, was awarded the 2008 PR Week Nonprofit Campaign of the Year, the 2008 Holmes Group Gold SABRE Award for Social Marketing Campaign of the Year and the 2008 PRSA Silver Anvil Award for Nonprofit Campaign of the Year, Integrated Communications.
Gandhi graduated with a degree in advertising from Southern Methodist University and received her MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas. Before beginning her career in marketing, she engaged in patient education and care in the field of cardiology. Her work in this area fueled her passion to help people take care of their hearts by applying her marketing background to the care and prevention of heart disease and stroke and built her passion for her current work at the AHA.
